Yes, Las Vegas, Nevada is full of Casinos, but that is not the only thing to do in the Sin City. With lots of live entertainment, nightlife, food, shopping and more, there is always something to do; and it is one of the reasons why Vegas is always a good idea.
Honestly, I don’t think I really need to introduce Vegas. Las Vegas is the most populous city in Nevada.

Everyone knows the famous saying “What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas” but to help you plan your next trip, I will share a little bit of …What happens in Vegas!
Let’s jump right into the fun things that you can do during your visit to Las Vegas, Nevada.
I have been able to travel to Vegas several times. So these are things I have done from every time I have visited.
- Snap a photo at the Famous “Welcome to Vegas Sign”
- Visit Bellagio Fountain
- Take a tour at the Hoover Dam
- Take a Gondola ride at the Venetian
- Check out Seven Magic Mountains
- Attend a show like Cirque Du Soleil
- Go to a Pool Party in the Summer
- Party at a Nightclub
- Gamble *responsibly*
- Eat at one of the many Buffets
- Do some Shopping at The Forum
- Visit Fremont Street (Downtown Vegas)
- See the Volcano show at the Mirage
- Walk along the Strip!
The list could go on! Make sure to check out the Vegas website to see what’s happening in the city at the time of your travels. You could be going during EDC Festival, or Nationals Finals Rodeo, or a major sporting event, like the Super Bowl in 2024.

Booking a trip to Vegas should not be complicated, but with so many options, it could get a bit overwhelming – if you have never been.
Flights to Las Vegas, for the most part, are very affordable. Check for flights on Google Flights, Hopper, Escape or for any of your preferred airline for flight deals.
I highly suggest staying in one of the Hotel & Casinos on the strip. It will make it easier for you to move up and down the street easily on foot. I have stayed at Riviera, New York New York, Harrah’s and Mirage.
A lot of the attractions I mentioned above are free! Yep, FREE!

The Welcome to las Vegas sign is located at the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip (by the airport). You do not have to make a reservation unless you want to take a guided tour. I highly suggest going early in the morning if you want to take lots of photos. Unless you are a good photographer, or know how to work a night mode camera, try to go during daylight, otherwise the light from the sign will be too bright and your photos will come out dark. *There is no photographer on site. Some times there is a person taking photos for tips or a small fee!
The Bellagio Fountain is one of the most popular spots in Vegas. It is a free show outside of the The Bellagio on the Vegas strip. The choregraphed water show with music and lights, run every day with time intervals of 30 and 15 minutes depending on time and day (check their website for exact times).
If you have a car, take a trip to the Hoover Dam. It is crazy how big that place is. It used to be the world’s tallest Dam when it was built it in the 30s. It is now the second tallest dam in the U.S. The Hoover Dam is between Arizona and Nevada.

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is like if you are taking a trip to Venice. Here is where you can book a Gondola Ride with your own singing gondolier. They have both, indoor or outdoor tours.
Seven Magic Mountains is a large-scale public art installation about 15 minutes south of Las Vegas, Nevada. The exhibition opened in 2016 and was originally supposed to stay up for only 2 years. Due to the incredible success, artist Ugo Rondinone has expressed a strong desire to explore ways to keep the artwork in Vegas.
Cirque du Soleil has several themed shows. Some are more pricier than others, but in my opinion, they are all fun and great performances! My favorite one is “O”.

Visiting in the summertime? Make sure to attend a Pool Party! They are so much fun and some hotels have night pool parties! You can get in for free by looking for promoters. They are all over Vegas. Or you can find them on Instagram! I got to see Diplo DJ at one of the pool parties and it was pretty cool!
Want to continue partying? Experience the nightlife in Vegas. The promoters that can get you in to the pool parties are the same ones that can help you get in for Free at one of the hottest nightclubs in Vegas. Check out to see who is performing at your preferred hotel! *My tip to save some money, is to pregame before going to a Club since drinks tend to be a bit expensive.
Not in the mood of partying? All the Casinos are open 24/7 so you can have a great time Gambling. For some reason I enjoy playing the slot machines, but once in a while I like to play some Blackjack, or the Roulette. Remember to always Gamble Responsibly!

With so many restaurant options, it is hard to just pick one place. But if you are unsure of what to eat, I recommend going to a Buffet. The Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace is worth every penny! Make sure to make a reservation!
After eating some delicious food, you can head over to The Forum and do some shopping… or at least walk around to digest all that food! The Forum Shops are also located at Caesars Palace.
You can’t say you experienced Vegas without going to Fremont Street! Downtown Vegas is where it all started! There is live music EVERY NIGHT. Shops, casinos, dining and a cool light show after 6PM. You truly want to check out Fremont on your Vegas visit.

Just like the Fountains, The Mirage has a fun Volcano Show that you can watch for Free. The Volcano is on the strip side, in the front entrance of the Mirage. The show is every hour Monday through Sunday from starting at 7PM and the last show is at 11PM.
Or just simply walk down Las Vegas Strip. You can enjoy your favorite drink while walking down the strip, hopping from casino to casino, admiring the bright Vegas lights, watching street performers, and more… You could also rent a limo and have them drive down the strip! It is SO MUCH FUN!!
Vegas is one of the cities I have traveled to the most. And one of the ones where I still have not gotten tired of visiting. I feel like every time there is something new or something I have yet to experience.
I hope your time in Las Vegas is as fun as mine has been! …And remember, “What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas. Except for herpes. That shit’ll come back with you.” – The Hangover! (Haha… I just HAD to insert that quote from one of my fave movies! LOL!)

Definitely! There’s so much to do in Vegas. Great post and photos!
